Yes. Guests can attend for $10 per meeting. We’d love you to become a member, though, as there’s much more for you than our great speakers.
-
It’s easy! Just sign up online, pay the small $10 fee to attend, and come. If you forget to pay, the cost is $15 in cash, a check, or a credit card at the door.

No. You can be writing anything from novels, cookbooks, memoirs, blogs, poetry, daily journal, stories about super heroes, you name it! Our members write creatively and in business and professional settings. If you’re serious about writing, our club has many benefits to offer you.

We’ve outlined these under the Membership tab. Check ‘em out.

Yes. Most of us are designated as “regular members of the California Writers Club,” meaning that we belong to one of the CWC branches. But there are other types of memberships.
A writer who is a regular member of one branch of the CWC and joins one or more additional CWC branches concurrently is called a dual member.
We have a student membership for actively enrolled students ages 8 to 22.
Regular, dual, and student members must renew their membership once a year, between July 1 and September 30.
There’s also a lifetime membership for someone who wants to sign up for the long haul.
Plus there are other membership classifications such as patron, honorary, courtesy, emeritus, associate non-writing literary professionals, and supporting. (Whew!) Don’t worry about these distinctions. If you have questions, email membership@cwcpeninsula.org.
-
If you’re new to CWC, membership costs $65.00 when you join between July 1 and December 31, or $42.50 when you join between January 1 and June 30. Yearly thereafter and beginning on July 1, it costs $45.00 to renew your annual membership.
If you belong to another CWC branch, it costs $25.00 to join our branch, too, as a Dual Member at any time of the year. You may continue your Dual membership each year for $25.00.
If you’re a student enrolled in good standing at a college or university, you may enroll any time of the year for $15.00.
You can become a lifetime member for $675.00 and never worry about renewing your membership. To inquire about this, please contact us at membership@sfpeninsulawriters.com.
If you wish to renew but have a financial hardship, contact us at membership@sfpeninsulawriters.com.

No. We welcome everyone — from first-time writers to seasoned professionals. Everyone benefits, as we learn together, and continuously. We put no pressure on you to publish. The CWC is a great place to learn about the writer’s life from established writers. Your career as a writer can begin or continue right here.
-
None. Simply participate when and as you can. No pressure! No writing due dates (unless you’re submitting your writing to Fault Zone)!
Of course, we’d love to see you volunteer to help with club activities. We always need volunteers.
-
Members must renew their membership during the period of July 1 to September 30 each year. Regular membership renewal is $45/year. If you have a dual membership with our branch and a primary membership with another, your renewal cost is $25/year.
Don’t worry about remembering to renew. We’ll prompt you when the time comes.
-
Membership renewal begins July 1 of each year and closes September 30 of the same year. Members receive an email on or before July 1 inviting them to renew. A member who lets a membership lapse is automatically dropped from active membership, but may renew, although at the new membership rate of $65. Send an email to membership@sfpeninsulawriters.com if you have questions.
-
You must be a paid current member of the San Francisco Peninsula branch of the California Writers Club. At the beginning of each two-year publication cycle that culminates in the next Fault Zone, all branch members are invited to submit writings for potential inclusion. There is a timeframe where we are open for submission to Fault Zone, then closed while the editors work with authors, edit, and publish. Find out more about Fault Zone under the Fault Zone tab on this website.
