1. January 2023 meeting minutes were presented and approved.
2. There will be a meeting to discuss who else - aside from the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, State Board Representative and Membership chair - is a voting member of the Board.
3. Geri clarified that if someone steps down/aside from a position they should make sure to try and find a replacement.
4. Need a volunteer to set up and monitor a Facebook presence
5. A plaque for Cynthia McCarthy (librarian in Palo Alto) costing $28 was voted on and approved. It will hopefully be presented at the next Writers Helping Writers in Palo Alto. It was suggested we present flowers too.
6. A presentation was made by Richard McCallum about the possibility of creating a Review Club of which he would be chair. It was decided that he would submit a written presentation for the Board’s consideration.
7. David Strom is to be the chair for Writers Helping Writers (WHW) in San Mateo.
8. Fault Zone acceptance/rejection letters will go out at the end of this month. There were over 200 submissions!
9. 23 volunteers have signed up to help Carole with the CWC booth at the San Francisco Writers Conference (SFWC).
10. Critique Group data collection is going well. Tim will send out a NewsBlast and remind people at Saturday’s monthly meeting to submit their information if they have not yet done so.
11. Margaret has designed wonderful new bookmarks. These will be made available at the monthly meeting and during WHW and SFWC.
12. The Stuart Horowitz Workshop on March 11th ($85) needs to be more actively promoted (only 9 people have signed up so far). Tim will create a handout advertising the workshop.
13. Vibha will follow up on CWC’s Twitter presence.
14. Tim has created submission guidelines for NewsBlast articles. They reside on our fabulous new website. At the end of March Tim will no longer be doing Yacht Club setup for monthly meetings nor will he be sending NewsBlasts. He has kindly agreed to help find replacements for these roles.
15. The budget for food for the Stuart Horowitz Workshop has been set at $5 per person.
16. Sue will look into finding a smaller storage unit and Steve has kindly volunteered to dispose of the large tables that are currently being stored.
17. Geri requested that we all support David Strom (dave.strom@gmail.com) as he becomes the new chair of WHW’s San Mateo.
18. Alisha presented the Treasurer's report for January.
